Michael Barrymore forced to quit Dancing on Ice

Michael Barrymore has pulled out of Dancing on Ice due to a broken hand.

The popular TV show was meant to be his TV comeback but he will now be replaced by Radzi Chinyanganya, as reported in The Sun.

Dancing on Ice would have been his first major TV appearance since he starred in Celebrity Big Brother in 2006 where he finished second.

Barrymore withdrew from TV presenting after the death of Stuart Lubbock in his swimming pool in 2002. He was never charged in connection with Mr Lubbock's death.

Michael Barrymore confirmed for Dancing on Ice 2020

Writing on Instagram on Wednesday morning, Barrymore said he was "devastated".

He wrote: "Took a nasty fall on the ice last Friday during rehearsals and sadly broke my left wrist. Absolutely devastated to hear that I can’t go back on the ice for a while.

"Really enjoyed every single moment of being part of the terrific show and working with all the incredibly talented people involved x"

Former Blue Peter presenter Radzi fronted the CBBC show until April this year and is also a familiar face on Songs of Praise.
