Michael Ballack details "perfect" Jurgen Klopp move - but questions Liverpool boss' intentions

Michael Ballack has lauded his compatriot Jurgen Klopp for the work he has done at Liverpool - and thinks he could well take charge of the Germany national team in the near future.

Klopp has won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Club World Cup and Premier League with the Reds since last June, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers in the world.

It appears he is currently settled at Anfield, but the 53-year-old may begin to consider his next move once he feels he has achieved all he can on Merseyside.

And speaking to Sportbuzzer, Ballack tipped him to replace current Germany boss Joachim Lowe.

"It is impressive how Jurgen established Liverpool at the top, then led them to the Champions League triumph and now to the championship title," the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich midfielder said.

"He breathed the new spirit into Reds, embodies the club, and is a brutal worker who gets the most out of his players. He is an absolutely exceptional trainer. For me he is one of the three best coaches in the world."

When asked about the Germany job, Ballack continued: "Why shouldn't one of the best coaches in the world be a candidate for the national coaching post?

"The question is not whether he has the qualities for it, but whether  Klopp  would even like to become a national coach.

"He is in a position where he can choose anything. Should he ever have enough as a club coach, the position of national coach would be a great story for him and German football. The connection would be perfect."

Klopp has now been at Liverpool for five years, while he spent seven years in charge at Borussia Dortmund and seven years at Mainz.
