Michael Avenatti, the telegenic attorney best known for representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Donald Trump, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his ex-wife, according to a report.
Avenatti was charged with felony domestic violence over an altercation that occurred Tuesday, law enforcement sources told TMZ.
The sources said the estranged wife's face is "swollen and bruised."
There was reportedly a second incident outside a ritzy apartment building in the Century City neighborhood of Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Sources told the gossip outlet that Avenatti's ex-wife came running out of the building with sunglasses covering her eyes while screaming on the phone, "I can't believe you did this to me."
Avenatti, 47, reportedly showed up five minutes later, chased after her and repeatedly screamed, "She hit me first. This is bulls--t, this is f--king bulls--t."
Avenatti was reportedly still in custody Wednesday evening.
A Los Angeles Police Department source declined to confirm the reported details but told the New York Daily News that officers have "made contact" with Avenatti.
The high-profile attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
