Lincoln City have won the race for Robbie Gotts.
The Leeds United midfielder has moved to the League One club on on for the rest of the season following an intense fight for his services.
There had been plenty of speculation over the future of Gotts, with up to six EFL clubs credited with an interest in him.
Lincoln, who sit second in League One with 12 points from five matches having suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday, have now managed to sign the 20-year-old on a season-long loan.
Imps boss Michael Appleton was delighted to have secured Gotts' services, paying tribute to the player's versatility.
"Robbie’s very versatile in terms of his ability to play in midfield or at full back," Appleton said to Lincoln's website.
"He’s got bags of quality in possession of the ball and he’s got the energy and athleticism to get up and down the pitch too."
"Overall though he’s just another really good addition and the fact that it’s his first loan away quite excites me too because he's desperate to impress and desperate to impress his new teammates as well."
There were no shortage of suitors to take Gotts on loan this season.
Carlos Corberan's Huddersfield Town were linked with an interest earlier in the summer, with the Terriers boss having worked closely with Gotts during his time as Leeds under-23s manager.
Yet there appeared to be more interest from League One clubs than the Championship, with Hull City, Sunderland, Charlton Athletic and Swindon Town all reportedly keen to sign Gotts.
Sunderland dropped out of the race earlier this week when defensive injuries forced the Black Cats to focus their transfer priorities elsewhere.
After coming through Leeds' youth ranks, Gotts made his senior debut for the Whites in January's FA Cup third round tie with Arsenal.
He last featured for Leeds in their Carabo Cup defeat to Hull City last month.
