Micah Richards trolls Gary Neville with Valencia joke after Man United defeat to Man City

Defeat in the Manchester derby was no laughing matter for Manchester United — but Micah Richards was able to draw some amusement from Gary Neville.

As the dust continues to settle on another hammer blow for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his under-performing team, Neville and Roy Keane were among the former United players to criticise them from the pundits' studio.

After being beaten 5-0 by Liverpool, United were again dismal in defeat to another close rival in the 2-0 loss to City side who barely got out of second gear.

An own goal from Eric Bailly and Bernardo Silva settled the scores in favour of Manchester City as the neighbours find themselves nine points shy of the top-flight summit.

United were spared an 11-point gap when Burnley hit back to draw with table-topping Chelsea later on in the afternoon.

Amid intense pressure on Solskjaer and his future at the Old Trafford helm, Neville switched focus to Richards in a light-hearted exchange between the Sky Sports pundits.

However, the former United captain and Valencia manager — who was sacked after only 28 games in charge of the La Liga side in 2016 — was on the receiving end of a quick-witted response.

Neville said: "Micah got more managers sacked at City then you don't know what."

Ex-City and England defender Richards added: "I would still last longer than you in a job, though."
