Micah Richards stitches up Jamie Carragher after catching him Googling players for show

Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher clearly have a good rapport when paired together as pundits, and this extends to being able to have a laugh at each other's expense.

The pair have been regulars on British screens, with former Manchester City man Richards settling in well after retirement, gelling well with old hand Carragher.

Richards and Carragher have worked together overseas as well, and found themselves side by side in the CBS studio for this week's Champions League action.

They were joined by former United States midfielder Maurice Edu during a full day of European action, which involved Carragher's former club Liverpool beating Atletico Madrid.

However, as Richards quickly discovered, his co-pundit was far from an expert on the other ex-footballer in the studio.

Edu spent several years in the UK, playing for Rangers and Stoke City, and even made his debut for the Potters against Carragher's Liverpool.

The former Reds captain was on the bench for that game at Anfield, but still felt the need to do some late checks about his co-panelist.

When quizzed by presenter Kate Abdo about the ex-midfielder, Carragher sheepishly replied "I googled him before, did you get me on camera?"

And sure enough, Richards did indeed catch him in the act.

"I thought 'what is he going on here?' and then saw his name and though 'surely...'" Richards said, explaining his decision to take not one but two photos of Carragher's work.

The trio of ex-pros all laughed it off before continuing their preparations for Liverpool and Manchester City's games later in the day, while Richards later shared the video on Twitter with the caption 'Caught Carra red handed'.

Liverpool ended up beating Atletico Madrid 2-0 to seal their progress to the knockout stages, while City moved one step closer to qualification with a 4-1 victory over Club Brugge.

Edu was part of a Rangers side which won Scottish titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011, but failed to make much of an impact at Stoke.

Indeed, that game at Anfield was his only senior appearance under either Tony Pulis' or Mark Hughes, and he spent time in Turkey and the United States after leaving the club.

He was also part of the United States squad which faced Carragher's England at the 2010 World Cup, though he was an unused substitute for that game.

Liverpool's victory at Anfield means they are already confirmed as group winners ahead of matches at home to Porto and away at AC Milan.

City, meanwhile, are top of their group with two games left, and can clinch first place if they beat Paris Saint-Germain at the Etihad Stadium later this month.

Next up for City is a trip to Manchester United in the league, while Liverpool are preparing for an away trip of their own against West Ham United.
