Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has shared some insight into Newcastle United following regular talks with Alex Bruce.
The Magpies won on Sunday to give them a six point cushion over the relegation zone but there's little doubt Steve Bruce is still battling the tide of public opinion.
As a result, Bruce has received regular criticism and there has been consistent calls for a managerial change at the club - which has not been forthcoming from Mike Ashley.
While the manager has been criticised with accusations that he is not aware of the magnitude of the situation, Richards has said that is not the case following talks with Steve Bruce's son.
"I know Brucey, I speak to his son, Alex, all the time. They feel the pressure, they know they've got to win and they have to give a performance like last week against Spurs," he told Sky Sports.
"They got a good draw (against Spurs) and it gives them a bit of confidence. They want to succeed, Newcastle, they want to give everything they have but the fans want to see more expansive and creative football. To get the fans onside, that's what they need to see."
Newcastle are due to tackle relegation rivals Fulham on the final weekend of the season, which could make or break the campaigns for both sides.
Prior to that clash, the Magpies have West Ham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leicester City, Manchester City and Sheffield United.
Meanwhile, Fulham are due to face Arsenal, Chelsea, Burnley, Southampton and Manchester United in the closing weeks of the season.
