Micah Richards has raised concerns over Phil Foden's development when Pep Guardiola leaves Manchester City.
Foden, under the guidance and assistance of the Catalan, has established himself as one of the most exciting and talented youngsters in world football, proving himself as a seasoned professional, despite only turning 21 years old back in May.
The Stockport-born ace, who is one of the most versatile attackers currently playing in the Premier League, has taken his game to a whole new level in the past 12 months or so, with his tallies of goals and assists proving exactly that.
Since the start of last season, the England international has had a direct hand in 36 goals for City, scoring 21 times and claiming 15 assists, with Guardiola continuing to put more and more faith and trust in him.
In recent weeks, he has been transformed into a false nine and been tasked with spearheading City's forward line, a task he has completed with flying colours.
Although Foden's future is both bright and hugely promising, former City defender Richards has questioned what could happen to the England ace, in terms of his progression and position, when Guardiola leaves the club.
Richards told the Match of the Day Top 10 podcast : "He just lights it up and it looks so easy for him.
"The only problem with Foden is, like now when we're talking about positions and where he could play, and that could hamper his progression.
"You know what is going to be interesting for Foden, is when Pep leaves Man City, when a new manager, with new ideas, comes in, because Pep loves him and he said he wouldn't sell him for anything.
"The new manager could change that.
"He is a great player, but he is great for the way that Man City want to play. We are talking about the Barcelona style of play."
Foden is a contender for our Fans' Footballer of the Year vote in both the national and club sections.

Therefore, Richards' suggestion that a change in tactical approach for City under a new manager could impact Foden's progression could slightly impact the 21-year-old's future.
