Micah Richards believes both Manchester United and Manchester City will win silverware in the coming campaign.
The new Premier League season is nearly upon us and Arsenal will get the ball rolling at newly-promoted Brentford on Friday night, before United play the second game on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Leeds United to Old Trafford.
City will have to wait until Sunday evening before they get their title defence underway when they travel down South to take on Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues will be hoping their domination in England continues this year as they look to retain the title and the Carabao Cup as well as get their hands back on the FA Cup.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, will be aiming to finally put an end to a barren trophy spell for United, with their last triumph coming four years ago in the Europa League.
Former City man turned pundit Richards believes that both Manchester clubs will get a taste of success this season.
"I think Manchester City will win the Premier League after a slow start," he told NSport.
"They have a settled defence but might still need a left-back and a striker. I see Chelsea as the biggest threat followed by Liverpool and Manchester United."
Then when asked about the FA Cup, he said: "There’s a theme starting here but I think City will win that too."
However, Richards does believe his old club will finally loosen their grip on the League Cup, which Pep Guardiola's side has won for the last four years, with United clinching it instead.
"City fans won’t like it but I think United might win it," he added.
