Micah Richards hails Liverpool midfield 'revelation' after £250,000 transfer bargain

Micah Richards has labelled Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic as a 'revelation' after the 18-year-old starred in the win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Bajcetic has quickly cemented a starting role in the middle for Liverpool and was named Player of the Match in the win over Everton on last Monday night. He is now set to start against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The Spaniard started for the second time in a row alongside Reds skipper Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, who have both massively improved their form ahead of a huge week for Liverpool.

Former Manchester City defender Richards said on Match of the Day: "Bajcetic...lovely turn [for the second goal]. He has been a revelation since he has come into the squad, he really has."

On the Reds, Richards added: "Alisson at times was their best player, but they are really getting into a groove now. Their passing at times was excellent."

Bajcetic arrived for a fee of around £250,000 when he signed for Liverpool in early 2021. He has started the last four Premier League games for the Reds after scoring his first goal in the win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

He has grown from strength to strength to now be a staple in the middle of the Liverpool midfield that has seen improvement in the last two matches.

The Reds are now firmly in the hunt for a place in the top four after the win over Newcastle on Saturday and Bajcetic will be key to any success Jurgen Klopp's side have this season.
