Micah Richards delivers decisive verdict on Newcastle United's relegation rivals Fulham

Micah Richards believes Eddie Nketiah's injury-time equaliser has condemned Fulham to relegation.

Scott Parker's side were minutes away from closing the gap to Burnley to just four points with a narrow lead at the Emirates Stadium.

Former Sunderland striker Josh Maja had given Fulham the penalty spot against Arsenal in the Sunday afternoon encounter.

But in the 97th minute, the Cottagers suffered another devastating setback as substitute Nketiah poked home a rebound.

Newcastle sit eight points clear of Fulham and still hold a game in hand following back-to-back victories.

The draw with the Gunners means Parker's side have failed to win in their last five matches.

Fulham have five matches remaining to save their top-flight status, but Richards fears time has run out on their survival bid.

Richards told Sky Sports: "I think they had to win this to have any hope. The last nine minutes of the game...you must be devastated.

"They did defend well. They defended well as a team, they didn't create many opportunities.

"I've seen Fulham play lot better than that if I'm being totally honest. I think that's them relegated now."

Fulham were seconds away from claiming a vital victory, but fellow pundit Roy Keane has labelled their performance at the Emirates as poor.

He added: "I don't think Fulham deserved too much more. I thought Fulham were poor.

"I know they are fighting for their lives, but the lack of quality from both teams was dreadful."
