Police in Florida were called to reports of an active shooter in a shopping mall as three people were rushed to hospital.
Images from the Aventura Mall in Miami show shoppers fleeing in terror after shots were reportedly fired, with witnesses saying people were "running and trampling" to get away.
Others were forced to hide inside shops and in storage rooms as the terrifying incident unfolded.
Three people were taken to hospital, according to the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue service, but the extent of their injuries is not clear.
A source told the Miami Herald that there were two suspects, with one arrest made. Video from the scene appears to show a suspect being arrested by officers.
It is thought that the shooting stemmed from an argument between two people, the newspaper reports.
None of those taken to hospital suffered life-threatening injuries, according to reports.
Aventura Police posted on Twitter: "We have several suspects involved in custody and being question by Detectives.
"We have 3 victims who have sustained NON- life threatening injuries and out being treated at local hospitals."
One woman posted on Twitter : "Literally locked in a store at Aventura mall because there is an active shooter."

People inside the mall were forced to hide in shops and storage rooms as the terrifying incident unfolded, according to Local 10.
It happened at around 4pm local time - 9pm in the UK.
One witness posted: “Shooting in aventura mall I was scared af for my kids. I literally walked in and everybody was running.”
Another wrote: "Locked down in a store because of the shooting @AventuraMall. Thankful my husband decided to leave early with our son and didn’t have to live this tragic experience. Can’t wait to get home safe and hug them both."
A woman posted: "My brother called me while running away from the shots fired at aventura mall. never want to receive a call like that ever again, he’s ok, thank god."
Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the scene, CBS News reports.
