Miami’s first off-season workout of 2019 is a “good start”

Day one is in the books! The Miami Dolphins returned to the team facilities yesterday for their first organized workout of the 2019 year. There were no surprise holdouts along the way, as star cornerback Xavien Howard was in attendance.

The early season workouts are something of formality, there’s some light conditioning and strength training, but this time window for the Dolphins essentially serves as a “getting to know you” period.

Miami was one of three teams to open their doors yesterday, the earliest day the team could have hosted set off-season workouts and organized activities.

Coach Brian Flores offered a few words of encouragement after the session.

“There was a lot of excitement in the building today. The coaches were excited. The players were excited. I think we got off to a good start.”

One of Flores’ key tasks in year one: establishing a strong relationship with his players. Every day that brings positive energy now helps to build up that trust, which Flores and his staff will need when the going gets tough.

We’re off to a good start.
