Miami’s baseball team has an excellent football-themed field entrance

Miami baseball fell to Central Michigan, 6-5, on Friday in the Starkville Regional of the 2019 NCAA baseball tournament. But their pitchers pulled off an awesome football-themed entrance as the Hurricanes took the field.

The pitchers didn’t have too much to do, so they helped the team warm up briefly with a trick play that might have been borrowed from the Hurricanes’ football playbook.

According to a video tweeted by Mississippi State reporter Brett Hudson – the Bulldogs are hosting the regional and beat Southern U on Friday — this is how the Hurricanes lined up as their team took the field. A quick reverse after the snap led to this deep shot downfield from what would have been a running back and was caught perfectly in right center field.

Maybe Miami’s football team should take a couple notes.

Now, if you want to get all technical, there are a few football-related things that don’t quite add up here, including the receiver being way, way offsides. But who cares? This is still too much fun.

After their loss, the Hurricanes will play Southern U on Saturday in an elimination game, while Mississippi State faces Central Michigan later in the day.
