Miami Heat suffer playoff blow as Gabe Vincent ruled out

The Miami Heat will have to navigate Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics without the presence of guard Gabe Vincent, as confirmed by the team.

Vincent, who has been averaging 17.5 points in the best-of-seven series, sustained a left ankle sprain during the Heat's 116-99 loss to the Celtics in Game 4.

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter, leading Vincent to briefly leave the court for treatment before returning.

The 26-year-old has played a significant role in the Heat's unexpected journey, propelling them to the brink of their seventh NBA Finals appearance despite being the eighth seed.

Vincent's absence in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals has highlighted the significance of his role, especially since guard Tyler Herro has been sidelined with a hand injury since the first round.

With Vincent out, it is expected that veteran Kyle Lowry will step up and take on increased minutes. Lowry, who won an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, brings valuable experience to the Heat.

During the regular season, the 37-year-old appeared in 55 games, averaging 11.2 points and playing an average of 31.2 minutes per game.

As the Heat look to close out the series and secure their spot in the NBA Finals, Lowry's presence and contributions will be crucial.
