Miami Heat signs Warriors G League star Kendrick Nunn

The Santa Cruz Warriors G League star Kendrick Nunn will be headed to Miami, according to Ira Winderman, Miami Heat beat writer for South Florida Sun Sentinel.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Oakland University signed a partially guaranteed deal with Golden State and worked out with the Warriors through Summer League and training camp before being waived Oct. 12. He has averaged 19.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game with Santa Cruz.

Nunn was the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2018.

Nunn played his first three collegiate seasons at the University of Illinois. He left Illinois in 2016 after being convicted of a misdemeanor battery charge.

Nunn was the runner-up to Atlanta Hawks guard, Trae Young, for the NCAA scoring title in 2018.
