MIAMI _ Hours after Kevin Durant agreed to sign with the Golden State Warriors, the Miami Heat offered guard Dwyane Wade $40 million over two seasons, the second season being at Wade's option.
Previously, the Heat offered Wade $10 million per season. Wade made $20 million in 2015-16, something of a renaissance season for him _ he played 74 games, his most since 2010-11; averaged 19.0 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game in his 13th NBA season.
Wade, who turns 35 in January, is flying back from Europe Monday and expected to take a meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks in New York later this week.
