Formula One is back after an early-season hiatus, with all eyes on the Miami Grand Prix.
The early stages of the 2026 F1 season have been delayed for five weeks as the result of the cancellation of April races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia amid the conflict in the Middle East.
We now have a shortened 22-race calendar and there has been no action since the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka on March 29, where Kimi Antonelli, 19, made it back-to-back race wins to become the youngest driver ever to lead the world championship standings.
The Italian also triumphed in China two weeks previously to clinch his maiden success, continuing Mercedes’ dominant start to this controversial new era for the sport after team-mate and title favourite George Russell had eased to victory in the season opener in Australia.
Plenty has happened in the time since the last race, including more doubt being cast upon four-time world champion Max Verstappen’s future in F1 amid confirmation that long-time Red Bull race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase will depart for McLaren in a shock move no later than 2028.
