Miami Dolphins land sixth overall pick from Philadelphia Eagles

The Miami Dolphins pulled their second major draft trade in hours on Friday as they landed the sixth overall pick in the first round of next month’s NFL Draft from the Philadelphia Eagles for the 12th pick, which they had acquired earlier from the San Francisco 49ers.

The Dolphins were in a position to wheel and deal with Philadelphia after a trade earlier in the day that saw them send the third overall pick to San Francisco for the 12th pick and first-rounders in 2022 and ’23.

Now the mystery on who San Francisco wants at three, Miami at six, and why Philadelphia was willing to trade out of the slot and move back to 12.

Remember, there were all sorts of questions about former Eagles coach Doug Pederson’s motivation in the final game of the season to put Nate Sudfeld in against Washington.

The Eagles lost that game and wound up in the six-slot rather than potentially the ninth position.

Meanwhile, it is a Friday in March and the NFL is truly where the madness is occurring.
