TEAM NEEDS

Edge Defender
The biggest need for the Dolphins is definitely the edge position heading into the draft. Former first round pick Charles Harris hasn’t panned out the way many had hoped and the team lost their consistently best pass rusher in Cameron Wake. Adding a high caliber edge in round one needs to be the primary focus for the team.
Offensive Tackle
With the departure of Juwan James in free agency, there is a gaping hole at right tackle for this team. Regardless of whether Ryan Fitzpatrick or whoever is the quarterback this year for the team, they have to find a new tackle in this draft in order to properly protect this team’s next quarterback.
Safety
Minkah Fitzpatrick was a home run draft pick last year for the team as he was excellent in whatever role they played him. Adding another safety to play alongside him has to be a focus point. ReShad Jones and TJ McDonald are both shells of their former selves and a young safety to add alongside Minkah would be great for the future.
Offensive Guard
Similar to the need for tackle, the Dolphins need to build an offensive line for their next quarterback. Their guards right now are well below average and the team would benefit a ton from upgrading that position.
Wide Receiver
Receiver seems like a need every year for the Dolphins. Kenny Stills is solid and Albert Wilson can be good if he stays healthy but outside of that, there is a ton of uncertainty at the position. Adding a reliable, big body target on the outside would go a long way.
TOP TARGETS

Brian Burns | EDGE | Florida State
The Dolphins need an edge so why not add the player with the most potential in the class? Burns is a lengthy and bendy edge rusher who offers a ton of upside rushing the passer. If he somehow is available at pick 13, the Dolphins would be insane to pass up his talent at that pick.
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson | DB | Florida
Minkah Fitzpatrick was touted as the most versatile defensive back last year and the Dolphins could add yet another versatile DB in this draft. CGJ can play single high and also come into the box and play some nickel corner as well. Matching his skillset along with Minkah’s would be fun to watch for many years.
Kaleb McGary | OT | Washington
Big, strong, and full of effort describe McGary best. An excellent run blocker and fairly consistent pass blocker, McGary would lock down the right side for the Dolphins and help protect their future quarterback. He may not be a flashy pick but he would be a plug and play starter who could really help this team.
