Miami DE Joe Jackson had visit with Cardinals

As the time for official visits with NFL draft prospects wraps up today, another player the Arizona Cardinals brought in for one of their official 30 has been reported. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Arizona hosted Miami defensive end Joe Jackson for a visit in the predraft evaluation process.

He is a projected late Day 2 or Day 3 pick in the draft. He measured 6-4 and weighed 275 pounds at the NFL combine and would likely have to transition to outside linebacker in the Cardinals’ 3-4 defensive system.

In three seasons for the Hurricanes, he logged 22.5 sacks and 35.5 tackles for loss. His highest season totals came in 2018 when he had 8.5 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss. He also had an interception he returned for a touchdown.

He is big and strong and plays with violence and power.

Keep an eye on him, especially if he falls to Day 3. The Cardinals have seven Day 3 picks to use.
