Miami adds two young interior offensive linemen

No stone will be left unturned for these Miami Dolphins. General manager Chris Grier and head coach Brian Flores continue to work to identify opportunities to better the roster — even if it comes by further enhancing the competition of the bottom of the roster. Eventually someone has to rise to the occasion, right?

That seems to be the Dolphins approach to the offensive line at the moment. The team parted ways with 2017 5th-round draft pick Isaac Asiata yesterday — but added two young talents to the mix in hopes of finding a hidden gem. Those signings are former NC State guard Tony Adams and former Baylor center Kyle Fuller.

Adams worked with Dolphins offensive line coach Pat Flaherty last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars and several offensive coaches from a brief stop in New England last December as a member of the practice squad.

This offseason has been filled with familiar signings, so it is only fitting that the team continues that trend with adding a developmental player like Adams.

In Fuller, the Dolphins are getting a 2017 7th-round pick. Fuller was originally drafted by the Houston Texans but in his two years of pro football he’s now on his third team. Considering the Texans’ dire offensive line situation, Fuller should come with tempered expectations. Houston cut Fuller last September before their offensive line gave way to 62 sacks of quarterback Deshaun Watson.
