MI6 spy chiefs advertising for part-time James Bonds who 'must love travel'

Intelligence bosses want to hire an army of part-time James Bonds.

The new “consultants” could typically have contacts in Russia or China.

The plan, revealed in a series of adverts, is believed to be the brainchild of new MI6 head Richard Moore, known as C for Controller.

One magazine ad said: “MI6 seeks individuals with diverse skill sets and life experiences for part-time and consulting roles.

“Highly desirable individuals could be subject matter experts in their chosen field... we welcome applications from UK and foreign nationals alike.”

One source said: “MI6 is basically saying to anyone fed up with their country’s regime that they can work for British intelligence part-time."

MI6 also wants people with contacts, ideally in Russia and China.

"They would travel on business or holiday. That will be very attractive for a corporate executive looking to spice up an otherwise dull life.”

Mr Moore, whose wife is blind, also wants to recruit a more diverse range of people, such as those with disabilities.
