Confirmation debris found on Reunion id from missing plane - as it happened

The Malaysian government has said that sealant from a wing part found on the island of Reunion proves it came from the missing passenger jet MH370.

Investigators from France, Australia and Malaysia had been working together to establish whether the wing part and a burned item of luggage really were from the missing jet, which disappeared en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March last year with 239 people on board.

Officials had said say they were due to pronounce the origin of the items by the end of the week – but that it could be significantly longer before the items could give up any further clues as to how the plane came down.
