MGU youth festival begins today

‘Wake Up Call 2022’ , the five-day youth festival of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kottayam, will begin here on Friday.

Actors Navya Nair and Unni Mukundan and musician Stephen Devassy will inaugurate the festival at a function to be held at the district stadium here at 5 p.m. Health Minister Veena George, who is also the chairperson of the organising committee, will preside over the function.

Cultural procession

The function will be preceded by a cultural procession in which 1,500 students from various colleges are expected to take part.

The cultural event is being staged across seven venues — District stadium (Sugathakumari Nagar), Royal auditorium (Nedumudi Venu Nagar), Catholicate College auditorium (Chrysostom Thirumeni Nagar), volleyball court of Catholicate College (KPAC Lalitha Nagar), Mar Clemis hall of Catholicate College (S. Ramesan Nagar), Eusebius hall of Catholicate College (Lata Mangeshkar Nagar) and English language hall of Catholicate College (Poovachal Khader Nagar).

The valedictory session will be held on April 5.
