MGM got a sweet price tag for the AAF’s gambling app

How much do you think an app that was talked about as the biggest — and maybe most important — part of the AAF would go for? Let’s say I told they reportedly spent $40 million developing app. It had upwards of 40 developers creating the product. It got a ton of buzz. It was even reported that the gambling app was the reason that Tom Dundon dumped millions of dollars into the league. Well, MGM must have gotten a deal because they reportedly got the app at the sweet sweet price of $125,000.

That’s a deal. Gambling is continuing to grow throughout the country. New Jersey took more sports bets than Nevada last May. A bunch of other states are in the process of legalizing sports gaming because they might as well benefit from the tax revenue. It’s a question of when, not if, wagering on sports will be legalized throughout the country.

MGM also has some deals lined up with professional sports leagues. They are official gaming partners of the MLB, MLS, and NBA. Caesars is the official partner of the NFL, but if MGM has a great NFL gambling app, it will be able to make some headway into a market that is growing. It’s a great deal for MGM.

And that was talking legalized sports gambling.
