Mexico vs. Ecuador soccer friendly Saturday at Coliseum sold out

March 25--Mexico's soccer friendly with Ecuador on Saturday at the Coliseum is officially sold out, organizers said Wednesday. A crowd of approximately 90,000 is expected.

Both teams played in the World Cup last summer. Ecuador failed to advance out of group play despite a win over Honduras and a scoreless draw with France, while Mexico finished second to Brazil in its group before losing to the Netherlands in the Round of 16.

Because Saturday's game falls on a FIFA competition date, both teams are expected to be at full strength.

Mexico's roster includes World Cup star Memo Ochoa in goal, Jonathan Dos Santos and Andres Guardado in the midfield, forwards Javier Hernandez and Raul Jimenez up front and captain Rafa Marquez on defense.

The match is the first of the year for Mexico, which is preparing for both the CONCACAF Gold Cup and Copa America. After Saturday's game Mexico will fly to Kansas City to meet Paraguay on March 31.

Ecuador, which was drawn into Mexico's group for the Copa America, has called up Premier League stars Enner Valencia (West Ham United), Antonio Valencia (Manchester United) and Jefferson Montero (Swansea City), along with current Liga MX players Walter Ayovi (Pachuca), Joao Rojas (Cruz Azul) and Fidel Martinez (Club Universidad de Guadalajara).
