Mexicana launches vegan-friendly cheeze slices to help cope with demand amid pandemic

Speciality cheese company, Norseland, has unveiled a new sliced version of its Mexicana Vegan cheeze to help people working from home during the pandemic.

Mexicana Vegan Slices is now available in 200g slices from 482 Sainsbury's stores across the UK and will retail at £2.60. The grocer is also introducing the award-winning Applewood Vegan block cheeze to 411 of its stores nationwide.

Mexicana Vegan Slices contain real bell and jalapeño peppers coupled with the spice mix used in its traditional variety.

Lisa Harrison, senior brand manager, said: "We know the demand is there as more of the population works from home and has the majority of their meals at home, therefore convenience is important when it comes to preparing food.

"And Mexicana Vegan is popular with vegans, vegetarians and flexitarians alike due to its meltability, proving to be perfect for spicing up toasties, pizzas, paninis, pasta bakes and enchiladas."

Mexicana Vegan Slices are coconut based, made in an allergen-free factory, are fortified with vitamin B12 and calcium and are Vegan Society approved, so they are perfect for vegan, dairy-free diets and all lovers of spicy food.
