Over the past six months, 64-year-old Mexican actor Eduardo Yáñez has been quietly fighting to regain his health. Now, feeling stronger, the legendary telenovela star is breaking his silence on the tremors in his hands that fueled rumors of Parkinson's disease.
Speculation about serious neurological issues began circulating in November 2024, after witnesses claimed to have seen Yáñez's hands visibly shaking. At first, the reports were dismissed. But when journalist Jorge Carvajal released a video showing the actor making involuntary hand movements, the rumors gained traction.
Eventually, Yáñez confirmed the suspicions himself.
The tremors became so persistent that he consulted his family doctor, who referred him to a neurologist. According to Yáñez, the specialist explained it like this:
"Fortunately, the doctor told me it was a reaction caused by the antidepressant medication I take to combat depression, and I had that reaction. The truth is, I did. It lasted a couple of weeks until I went to see the neurologist, and he took me off most of my medications. He left me on just one. They ran all kinds of tests on me, and I came out without Parkinson's disease.

After months of focusing on solving the problem, Yáñez is now better, and to prove it, he showed off his stable hands and made an obscene gesture to those who, he said, wished he had the neurological and degenerative disease.

The actor, who has starred in iconic soap operas such as "Destilando Amor," "Fuego en la Sangre," "Corazón Salvaje," and, more recently, "Juego de Mentiras" and "Golpe de Suerte," has been very open about his health issues, including psychological and psychiatric ones.
The psychiatric treatment that led to the tremors was designed to respond to severe depression, exacerbated by problems with his estranged only son and constant issues with the press.
