A Mexican takeaway has been granted permission to sell booze despite objections from people living nearby.
El Dorado on St John's Road, Waterloo, can now sell alcohol from midday-midnight, seven-days-a-week.
But people living near the shop raised some concerns.
One objector said: " This community needs a traditional chippy since the closure of Charlie Chan. [The owner] could have taken advantage of this unique opportunity but he is not interested in serving this community."
Another said: "Public nuisance will occur as a consequence of late gathering of already intoxicated people on their way home from the pubs by way of noise and arguments, and increase potential of fights this gathering of people.
"This will have a negative impact on our neighbourhood."
But the applicant's agent Bill Watkin said there was "no evidence to support the allegations".

He said the owner will request groups of youths not to congregate outside the premises, and a minimum spend on food before alcohol can be purchased. Merseyside Police, he said, has no objections.
Mr Watkin also said that the community "needing a traditional chippy" was not a relevant objection.
Sefton Council 's licensing sub-committee said while it had sympathy for residents' concerns, it had not heard or received any evidence that these concerns will occur and "cannot impose purely aspirational conditions in the absence of any evidence".
