NEW YORK _ Amed Rosario had struggled _ mightily. Yet, the Mets continued giving him opportunities, hopeful he would come around.
That moment may have arrived Friday.
In the bottom of the seventh, with the Mets down a run, Rosario drilled a walk-off, two-run homer off Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman. The blast gave the Mets a 4-3 victory and a doubleheader sweep after they won the first game, 6-4.
It also meant the Mets, once again, stole a victory from the Yankees.
Entering Friday, the Mets were 0-12 when trailing after seven innings. In both of Friday's seven-inning games, the Mets trailed late.
But this time, something changed: They found some magic.
The Mets could have easily folded and left Friday with two losses, but instead they began a five-game weekend with two victories.
