Mets-Nationals series finale rained out

WASHINGTON _ Wednesday's game between the Mets and Nationals was postponed due to inclement weather. The teams will make up the game down the road.

This is the third time the Mets have had a game postponed canceled this year, and will likely result in the teams playing a doubleheader at Nationals Park in late August.

Outfielders Yoenis Cespedes and Curtis Granderson were both set to play Wednesday night, and should be ready for the series opener Friday against St. Louis.

Cespedes did not play Tuesday after suffering a cramp in his right hamstring Monday, while Granderson did not start _ but did pinch hit _ the previous two days due to right hip tightness. Granderson took warm-ups before the call was made to insert him.

T.J. Rivera also was ready to return after leaving Tuesday's game with leg cramps.
