NEW YORK _ Mets right-hander Matt Harvey may undergo season-ending surgery as he has symptoms consistent with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). He has not informed the team of his decision yet, according to Mets general manager Sandy Alderson.
Harvey visited with Dr. Robert Thompson in St. Louis on Thursday. He had informed the team of his symptoms following his start Monday against Miami, and team doctors referred Harvey to Thompson after examining him.
There is the possibility Harvey can avoid surgery but Alderson believed that it may be inevitable for Harvey.
