MILWAUKEE _ Injured Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes is participating in baseball activity and "progressing nicely" according to Mets general manager Sandy Alderson. Cespedes has taken batting practice, and his examination in New York on May 8 went well.
"We had his lower back checked out to see whether there were conditions there that might be leading to his hamstring situation," Alderson said before Friday's game. "That all checked out well. He's making good progress. Expect him back soon ... wouldn't want to put a time frame on it but don't expect him to be (out) indefinitely."
