Metrocentre's free fashion shows this weekend aim to put a spring in your step

Anyone looking for some ideas for their spring wardrobe could find inspiration at intu Metrocentre this weekend.

Shoppers will find themselves treated to a clothes show showcasing the hottest trends for SS19 - which refers Spring-Summer 2019 if you're not a dedicated fashionista.

Following a launch event with social media favourite Rosie Ramsey, the catwalk has been set up in the Gateshead shopping centre's Town Square and models aged from teenagers to 50-year olds will be showing off the latest looks from new stores such as Jack Wills and Couture Club and high street favourites including Topshop and Marks & Spencer.

The current five key trends are animal print; so-called "athleisurewear"; neutrals; neon and boiler suits.

Spring fashion shows are now running at intu Metrocentre in Gateshead (PR)

And shoppers can both discover the new season look and pick up a few tips and advice.

The Burst into Spring fashion shows were launched by Rosie Ramsey - wife of comedian and Hebburn star Chris - and BBC Newcastle's Anna Foster earlier in the week.

Helen Atkinson, marketing manager at intu Metrocentre said: “Our style experts here at intu Metrocentre have worked with retailers from the centre to pull some of the key pieces for SS19 and help shoppers find new items to update their wardrobes from beachwear and holiday staples to elegant occasion wear and must-have accessories.”

The free fashion shows will take place in the Town Square this Saturday, April 27 at 11am; 1pm; 3pm and 5pm and on Sunday, April 28 at 12noon; 2pm and 3.30pm.
