Metrocentre's Fashion and Beauty Festival to return in April with style tips, treatments, classes and freebies

Top trends and how to wear them this spring and summer will be unveiled at the return of the Metrocentre's Fashion and Beauty Festival which is being hosted by a man who knows all about cutting-edge style.

April's so-called SS23 event will kick off the month with two days of fashion shows, masterclasses, beauty treatments and expert tips at the Gateshead shopping centre, where the festival's main stage will be set up in its Town Square. And hosting the April 1-2 weekender will be TV fashion stylist Mark Heyes.

Mark, who is well known for his appearances on ITV's Lorraine and role in Channel 4's She's Gotta Have It, will be sharing both insight and inspiration as he shows off his must-have fashion pieces for the season which all will be available from the Metrocentre. Some of the centre's newest beauty and clothing retailers will be showcased too at the event where there also will be live street dance shows, interactive beauty demonstrations and some freebies to boot.

At the fashion runway shows being hosted by Mark on the Town Square stage, visitors will be able to see various styles on display, catering for a wide audience.

They also will find a 'Beauty Garden' to explore, where Metrocentre’s beauty retailers will be offering some complimentary beauty treatments, advice, masterclasses and the freebies. And at a Beauty Wall, fashionistas and make-up followers can pose for selfies and take home a personalised print-out of their picture.

Helen Atkinson, Metrocentre marketing manager, said, “This year's SS23 event is not to be missed by anyone with a passion for fashion and beauty, or those who want to learn something new." She said the team is "delighted" to have the talented Mark Heyes joining them to provide insight into the latest trends and how to style them.

And she added: “We’re also thrilled to be able to showcase some of our newest retailers including Hobbs, Vanilla, Jo Malone and a raft of beauty brands available exclusively within Harrods Beauty including Le Labo, Monday Muse and Sunday Riley.” For more about the festival see here and find full information about Metrocentre here.
