Metra UP-North train strikes vehicle in Lake Forest, service delayed

Metra Union Pacific North line trains were stopped Saturday when a train struck a vehicle near suburban Lake Forest.

Metra announced the crash about 5:20 p.m.

Metra Alert UP-N - Inbound and outbound train movement halted, due to train #817 striking a vehicle near Lake Forest

It in not known at this time if there are any injuries resulting from the crash.

Riders should expect extensive delays, Metra said. Updates will be provide via the Metra.com website.
