MetGala 2024: Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Karol G, Eiza González, Shakira —The Latinos that stole the show in New York

Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez head the list of Latino celebrities who stole the show at the 2024 Met Gala. As the co-chairs, the two Boricua stars were stunning, but they weren't the only ones dressed to impress at the biggest fashion event of the year. This year, the Met gala is celebrating New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's new exhibition, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion." The official dress code is "The Garden of Time."

With a Victorian beauty look, a dress constructed like the petals of a flower, and a stunning necklace, Mexican actress Eiza González was one of the best dressed, while Colombian Latin music star Karol G offered a whimsical interpretation of the "Garden of Time" dress code. She showed up looking like a fairy, with elf-like ears included, in a nude covered by crystals gown, from the house of Dior, that fitted her like a glove.

Her fellow countrywoman, Shakira was in a gorgeous red dress by Carolina Herrera. Both Latin music artists were attending the Met Gala for the first time.

Cardi B and Rosalía both showed up dressed in black, choosing to embrace the "Sleeping Beauties" part of the exhibit. While the Spanish singer explained that her dress, by Dior, was the representation of that moment when "you first close your eyes when you are going to sleep," the Dominican American rapper looked like a nightmare with her dress from Kollin Carter.

Spanish actress and model Elsa Pataki was a vision in a Tom Ford gown. She was there as the plus one of husband Chris Hemsworth, who was another co-chair. They were the golden couple of the night.

Bad Bunny, showed up dressed mostly in black with a daring design from John Galliano for Maison Margela. He was holding a bouquet of flowers dyed totally black, inspired by Puerto Rico's national flower. His jacket was a deconstructed suit jacket, over black pants with a red stripe, and an attention-grabbing hat. As usual, JLo was a true Hollywood goddess with a nude gown from Schiaparelli, which made her look both elegant and sexy.

Boricua Colman Domingo looked dapper in Willy Chavarría, in homage to late André Leon Talley, who served as editor-at-large of Vogue magazine. Penélope Cruz was dressed in Channel, whilePuerto Rican urban singer-songwriter Rauw Alejandro looked modern and edgy with a sheer sleeveless top and white pants from Ludovic de Saint Sernin.

Rachel Zegler, Brazilian actress (Ble Beetle) Bruna Marquezine, Demi Lovato, Zoe Saldaña, and Lala Anthony were among other Latinos at the Met Gala.
