A WOMAN will face court in January after allegedly spitting on two police offices at Metford.
The 48-year-old was charged with a range of offences, including failure to comply with directions and assaulting police, after officers were called to Cedar Close about 5.10pm on Monday.
Port Stephens-Hunter police said officers arrived after reports of a domestic-related incident.
Officers spoke to a man and woman inside a home before they attempted to arrest the woman before she allegedly kicked and threatened police as she was placed into their vehicle.
"Police will allege she became aggressive and spat on both officers," NSW Police said in a statement.
The 48-year-old was taken to Maitland Police Station and charged with assault (DV related), not comply with direction regarding spitting/coughing COVID-19, and assault police.
She received conditional bail and will face Maitland Local Court on January 14.
It comes days after police were allegedly struck with projectiles breaking up a party in Lake Macquarie.
