It may be rough and ready and a little ragged around the edges, but this retelling of Ovid's famous myths is never a wet experience - even though it takes place in and around a swimming pool in the Apex hotel.
Here in the reflecting waters Eurydice falls into death and the river Styx, her clothes floating up around her like an ancient Ophelia. Apollo's son, a spoiled teenage brat, floats on a lilo as he talks to his therapist about wanting the keys to daddy's car. Candles illuminate the surface of the water as Pysche recounts her tale of love in the dark.
Sex and water make good partners here as bodies plunge into the depths, meet and seem to dissolve. In the case of Myrrah, who conceives an incestuous passion for her father, it is as if she is trying to wash away her shame.
A young cast - many still students or recently graduated - sometimes find both swimming and acting a little taxing, and the show is cramped in the small space available. But the piece is wholly original and is offered up with a sweet directness.
