In a complete game changer for stalkers, stans and the opps, Meta is trialling an Instagram Subscription service that enables nosey folks to access a plethora of functions, including the ability to watch Stories anonymously.
Instagram Plus is a new monthly subscription service that will let users access an “exclusive” list of extra features, a meta spokesperson confirmed to Engadget.
While it’s still in its trial phase, with only a handful of countries having access to the service, one of the “exclusive” features that’s grabbing eyeballs is the ability to “preview” IG Stories (AKA watch Stories anonymously). However, if you peep the list, there are others that are calling my name (and lowkey my bank acc) because you WILL NEVER take my burner account off me.

What features are offered on Instagram Plus?
Alongside the “preview” function — which will definitely raise hell in my neck of the woods — other exclusive, exciting features offered with the Instagram Plus feature include:
- The ability to create multiple Story audiences, perfect if you need the roster to clock the fit and the gang to see the cursed memes.
- Story rewatch insights.
- A search option for your Story viewer list, so you can see if the target audience saw your thirst trap.
- The option to extend your IG Story duration from 24 to 48 hours.
- The ability to send “super hearts” to Stories.
- The ability to spotlight your Story.
“Our hope from these tests is to understand what’s most valuable to people in a premium feature set,” a spokesperson for Meta told Engadget.
How much is Instagram Plus?
Per Engadget, Instagram Plus is available in both the Philippines for 65 PHP (AUD $1.56) and Mexico (AUD $3.15) per month. However, it’s been reported that Meta daddy is offering some userss a free one-month trial.
When will Instagram Plus?
There hasn’t been any word on when Instagram Plus will hit Australia and when you try to search, you get a webpage saying “the feature is not available to everyone right now”.
While the idea of being able to anonymously watch IG Stories is enticing, I would say I more so froth the idea of seeing how many times my story has been rewatched.
But knowing the content I produce, the rewatches will only be from my end.
