Met predicts downpour in Bhopal this week

BHOPAL: The city may get good rainfall for about two days this week— courtesy a weather system that has developed over the Bay of Bengal, weather office forecasts.

The city is short of average rainfall this season by about 150 mm till date and barely a fortnight is left for the monsoon season to end. The city office of the meteorological department (IMD) said that the rainfall may occur between September 15 to 17 later this week.

Meanwhile, the IMD predicts rain or thunder showers in Bhopal in the next 24 hours till Tuesday morning. The city so far has received about 812 mm of rains about 152 less than the average quota of rainfall which is about 4 % less.

The city also received a heavy spell of 6 mm rainfall in about half an hour of period in the afternoon on Monday

The weather office also said that heavy rainfall may occur at some places in 22 districts of western MP and Vindhya Pradesh. There are 17 districts in MP which are rain deficient as of now.
