Met Police appeal to identify 'Hoverboard riding suspect'

London Metropolitan Police have launched an appeal to identify a "Hoverboard riding suspect" who stole a crate of Lucozade.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man who stole the beverage from a Co-op supermarket on Streatham Road, Mitcham.

He can be seen riding a Hoverboard in and out of the shop.

The man entered the store at 9.43pm on 6 September and took a crate of Lucozade from the drinks aisle before leaving the shop without making payment.

He is described as black and was seen wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms.

Recent safety fears have resulted in trading standards officers impounding almost 90 per cent of the 17,000 Hoverboards they examined at UK borders since 15 October.

The scooters could blow up while charging due to issues with the plug and battery, firefighters have warned.
