Met Office yellow weather warning issued as forecast heavy rain could cause flooding

The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for rain for the south west region, which could lead to potential flooding.

The warning starts today at 12pm and finishes at 6pm.

Although the city of Bristol just misses the warning area, plenty of rain is still expected, while nearby Weston-super-Mare is among the locations included within the warning zone.

It comes amid forecasts of five days of torrential rain for parts of the UK.

What to expect

Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely with bus and train journeys likely to take longer than usual.

Spray and flooding on roads will also make journey times on public transport and in cars longer.

Some interruption to power supplies and other services is also likely.
