Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms remains in place for Glasgow today

A Met Office weather warning for potential thunderstorms remains in place for Glasgow today.

Forecasters say there is potential for thunder and lightning from 11am - 10pm tonight (Wednesday).

The yellow alert will run for much of the day but experts say the risk of disruption will be strongest from the afternoon into evening.

And - you know the drill by now - this could bring flooding, power cuts and travel disruption , the Met Office warns.

Today's forecast reads: "Showers becoming fewer and lighter later this evening then dying out from most areas overnight. Some clear periods developing and winds falling light."

But the good news is, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Tomorrow is set to be sunny and warm, with the forecast reading: "A brief respite from the very showery weather of late. Instead a drier and brighter day with sunny spells. There will be just a few light showers during the day."
