Met Office weather: Spring has arrived as warm temperatures expected to remain all week

It's officially the first day of spring and what better way to celebrate than by enjoying warmer weather. On Saturday Bristol faced its hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures rising up to 15C.

And according to the latest update by the Met Office, Bristol is to see sunshine for at least another six days until next Saturday. Temperatures are expected to drop slightly today (Sunday, March 20), reaching just 12C, but there will still be plenty of sunshine to enjoy.

However, next week temperatures are expected to soar with Tuesday and Wednesday being the hottest days of the week, with temperatures in Bristol reaching 17C.

Back to Sunday, and it's expected to remain sunny although cool throughout the morning with temperatures reaching between 5 and 10C. The weather will then change to cloudy but warmer by noon, with temperatures rising between 11 and 12C from 12pm to 6pm.

In the coming week the weather will continue to stay dry with Monday morning having clear skies, but Bristol may see some clouds in the afternoon. On Tuesday and Wednesday more sun is forecast, with the the Met Office predicting clear skies once again.

Today:

The eastern half of the region will see any early morning frost soon lift to leave a fine day with plenty of sunshine. However, Devon, Cornwall and parts of Somerset will be cloudier and could catch the odd shower. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Monday:

Monday will be a dry day and although a fair amount of cloud is expected at first, this will break to give sunny spells. Feeling pleasant, although turning breezy. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

The weather looks set to remain dry throughout the period with sunny or clear spells and a patchy night frost. Breezy at first, but winds falling light again.
