Met Office weather forecast for Wednesday for Bristol and Britain

It will be a case of the calm after the storm for the weather in Bristol today, Wednesday, January 15, with bright sunshine as the wind dies down.

Storm Brendan will blow through overnight, with a weather warning for strong winds, issued by the Met Office for the last couple of days, forecast to end at midnight as Wednesday begins.

The heavy overnight rain will clear up too by the early hours, and it will be a cloudy and relatively calm start to the morning rush hour.

The forecasters suggest the sun should show itself through the clouds by around 9am and by 10am we'll be into a bright sunny day, with clouds scudding across the skies on a gusty breeze from the south west.

The clouds should clear completely by mid-afternoon and it will be a rather pleasant day, with temperatures a not-too-chilly 9 C.

It'll be a clear night too, with the weather staying dry all night and well into Thursday morning.
