Met Office weather forecast for Leeds on Monday, June 6 as rain set to be replaced by clouds and temperatures of up to 16C

It looks set to start off as a rainy day in Leeds on Monday as the Jubilee celebrations have come to an end.

The Met Office predicts a wet start to the week, but expects it to clear up towards the late morning on Monday, when the rain will be replaced by lingering clouds.

Forecasters estimate that showers will fall from 10pm on Sunday, and they will last until around 11am on Monday. The showers should be replaced by clouds. Despite the gloomy weather, the Met Office predicts warmer temperatures as we get further into June and the summer months. Highs of 16C are expected at around 4pm, and the rain is not predicted to continue until Tuesday.

The Met Office has forecast "brighter" days ahead, with some outbreaks out rain. A forecaster said Monday in Yorkshire will start out with some "low cloud and hill fog with rain clearing by midday."

They added: "Brighter spells into the afternoon with some sunny intervals. Winds remaining light." Between Tuesday and Thursday, the forecaster said it is expected to be "cloudy with outbreaks of rain or showers Tuesday, brighter later. A band of rain and showers through Wednesday, clearing later. A settled and bright day away from coasts Thursday."
