Met Office weather forecast for Bristol on Easter Monday - cold weather as heatwave ends abruptly

The mini-heatwave that has left coronavirus lockdown Bristol basking in temperatures in the mid-20s centigrade will end with a short sharp bump of cold weather on Easter Monday, forecasters are predicting.

And it will take the whole of the week ahead for the weather to warm up again..

The Met Office forecast for Monday is that the day will start overcast and chilly, with temperatures down as low as 8 degC. But with a noticeably strong and new northeasterly wind, that will feel like a very sharp 5 degC.

The sun will come out tomorrow around lunchtime, but it will still feel noticeably cooler than the past few days - around a 10-12 degree drop on Friday and Saturday.

The day will continue cold and sunny with a biting east wind, but it will remain dry as nightfalls.

The outlook for Tuesday is very similar - again sunny but cold with that easterly wind.

It won't be until Thursday or Friday that things start to warm up again, with the temperature getting back to anything like as warm as it has been.

There is still no rain in the forecast for the week ahead.
