Met Office weather forecast for Bank Holiday Monday: Cloudy start but another lush day

The bank holiday weekend will continue with another hot and sunny day today, albeit after a cooler, cloudy start.

The Met Office forecast for Monday, August 26, is for cloud - maybe even a touch of fog - first thing in the morning.

Temperatures will be sluggish to rise much in the morning - it will be about noon before they hit 20C, but from then the sun is forecast to come out, the clouds clear away and the August bank holiday will see Bristol basking in warm sunshine for the rest of the day.

There'll be hardly any wind at all, and the mercury will hit around 24 deg C by around 3pm - not quite as hot as Sunday but not noticeably different.

There'll be a spot of cloud by sunset, but it'll be a dry night.

The forecast for Tuesday isn't so good - it'll just be cloudy all day with temperatures a respectable 22degC. Wednesday will see a dry start, but there's a chance of some showers on Wednesday afternoon as a south-westerly breeze stiffens up.

Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Thursday looks good - a nice warm sunny day, while Friday and Saturday will be a bit greyer, and the hot temperatures of this Bank Holiday weekend will cool noticeably by the weekend ahead.

The temperature on Saturday, August 31 - technically the last day of summer - will be ten degrees C cooler than the scorching heat of Bank Holiday Saturday in Bristol.
